Keep Up with What's Coming Up

Shining Light Productions was set up by Ryan Lee Driscoll in 1999 to provide compelling

entertainment to a worldwide audience.

Ryan started his film career at the age of 15 when he won the BBC’s ‘Young Film Maker of the

Year’ Award. A Master of Arts in Film Production, he has built up a considerable reputation as

a top film and television editor with over 20 years of broadcast experience to his credit.

Work includes ‘FUNNY MAN’, the cult horror movie starring Christopher Lee, Channel 4’s

‘NAKED PLANET’, ITV’s ‘I’M A CELEBRITY’, ‘THE APPRENTICE’ and ‘SUPER DOCTORS’ with

Professor Robert Winston for BBC1 and ‘BIGGER, BIGGER, BIGGEST’ and ‘POLICE

INTERCEPTORS’ for five. He also cut some of the highest rated series in the history of the

Discovery Channel including ‘NASA: WHEN WE LEFT THE EARTH’, ‘HUMAN BODY: ULTIMATE

MACHINE’ and ‘WHEN DINOSAURS RULED’ with Jeff Goldblum.

Having a long-term ambition to write and direct, Ryan produced several award winning

shorts before wrtiting & directing the dramatic short, ‘GRAVE MISTAKES’ starring Andrew Lincoln.

He then went on to write & direct his first feature, the tense psychological thriller

‘MAKING A KILLING’ which was released by Guerilla Films in the U.K. and by Asylum Home

Entertainment in the U.S. under the title of ‘MURDER BY DESIGN’.

Critical response to this venture was excellent with Diverse Magazine saying “’Making A

Killing’ is first-class, professionally made and full of black humour... a breath of fresh air in an

overworked genre.”

Shining Light's next venture, the Horror-Thriller, ‘AXED’ won the Bram Stoker Award for Best

Screenplay and received major worldwide distribution including a Lionsgate release in

the U.K., a pick up by Entertainment One for Canada and a Fangoria release for the U.S..
